WOW! Like really WOW! 2019 is flying past. So much has been going on this summer that I haven’t even had time to post on my blog, so here is around up from the summer months. Concerts, Camping, DIY and more DIY.
So the general theme of the summer was doing up some of the garden. We picked out some colours and wanted to replace some fence panels and put up some trellis as up until now we didn’t have a fence between us and our neighbours.
So I have written a whole post of putting up the new fence. You can read it in full by CLICKING HERE.
So my friends always laugh at me for drinking BUD LIGHT. But my thought was if I want to keep that gym body I need to watch the calories! Well, the joke is on me when I had a can of Bud Light and a can of regular Budwiser side by side and found out that Bud Light isn’t just low calorie it is also low alcohol!
So while enjoying the Kent countryside and exploring our local area we found a free day event down in Gravesend. A day of fun with a vintage fair, fairground and free festival-style concert. We spent a few hours enjoying the atmosphere and had a couple of ciders too.
For me, the highlight of the day was the Ariana Grande tribute act. As you may imagine I know all the words to all of the songs and was singing my heart out. THE SAM was shocked I knew them all!!
After the concert in Gravesend, it would be rude not to stop at the local Toby Carvery and sample their fine selection of roasted meats. A couple of jugs of John smiths and I think I’m ready for an afternoon nap.
20 Minutes to clear the plate. Now I don’t want to boast! But… I still got it!!!
Now for some culture. Me and THE SAM listen to a lot of classical music around the house. So we got tickets to go and see the proms at Rochester Castle.
A lovely outdoor event with a huge mix of people and a fantastic atmosphere all in the shadow of historic Rochester Castle.
The concert’s theme this year was the 007 movies and there was also performances from the Rock Choir as well as Collabro & Laura Wright.
After the James Bond fix they belted out all the classic last night of the proms music pieces including The 1812 Overture, Fantasia on British Sea Songs, Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and Pomp & Circumstance March no 1 and fireworks to finish off a beautiful evening at Rochester Castle.
I also finally got around to building the BBQ You can check out the full story by CLICKING HERE. Starting the project 2 weeks before our engagement party/summer barbecue gave me just the push I needed.
HANDMADE PROJECT BUILDING A BRICK BBQ
For the August Bank Holiday, a group of us all went Camping down in Hampshire.
The first chance she gets The Sam is in a tutu. Some things never change.
A lovely little weekend break away with good friends and good food. Now back to reality and getting the garden ready for the party.
Still, a bit of work to do before the party but no choice but to crack on.
To finish up the summer we went for a nice walk in —– Forest. A few miles strolling through the forest and by the lake,
Summer is over and now on to winter and making lots of scale models.
