Something different from this build. Still building model tanks but I’m going to have some fun and paint this one pink making a Pink Panther Tank. It is quite a basic kit from Tamiya. I’m expecting the build to be pretty easy and a lot of the working going into painting and weathering.
Building The Pink Panther Tank
As I mentioned this is quite an easy kit, you can check out my review video HERE. So the turret and main body of the tank have gone together very quickly and smoothly. The fit is very clean with little need for any filler.
Painting And Weathering The German Pink Panther Tank Model
Ok I have given the model a coat of German grey but have been a bit heavy handed with the gloss varnish and the paint has run a little. Not a massive issue as this is a base coat for chipping, but something I haven’t come across before.
So I went for the hairspray technique on this model here you can see the results after spraying a coat of pink and then getting to work with a wet brush.
I feel that the pink paint is a little bit too vibrant for what I want at the moment so I have gone over the model with a white oil wash and it has really given me a colour that I feel is more fitting. I have then painted the gun barrel and started to paint in all the tools that will be fitted to the exterior of the tank.
More Weathering On The German Panther Tank
I decided not go go to over the top with the weathering, along with the initial chipping I have added some streaking and a pin wash and finally a rust wash and some rust pigment.
So this has been a really fun little build, I got to practice some techniques and have finished off with a cute little Pink Panther Model Tank. Just going to stick on an aerial and I’m calling this one done.
