So I have picked up a few models based Flakvierling including the Flakvierling sd.kfz. 7 1 and the Möbelwagen. So I’m starting off with the basic model. Out the box, it looks to be quite a nice little build. There are a few flash lines but overall a nice casting.

I was out with The Sam at a local Kent festival, after we left she wanted to go to a vegan cake shop so I got dragged along. It just so happened that opposite the bakery was a model shop. So as you do, I popped in for a look. To be honest I didn’t really need anything but I like to support local model shops whenever I can. So I found this little 1/72nd scale Supermarine Spitfire MK.1a. Now I haven’t picked up an Airfix model in over 20 years so this should be a fun little project.

Quite an interesting model. So this is the French GCT 155mm auf1 SPH but the unique thing is that it’s not on the standard amx hull, instead it sits on top of a T-72 Hull. This variation appears to only appear at an arms fair where they were trying to sell this variation to the Indian army. Can’t find too many pictures, also there are no decal markings as it is only a display model.

Tamiya 135th German Flakpanzer IV Mobelwagen Step By Step Full Build

As I continue with my series of 2cm Flakerving anti-aircraft guns, I’m going to get on with this prototype version of the Möbelwagen that uses the 2 cm Flakvierling. During 1942 in the North Africa conflict, the German found how exposed they were to aircraft attacks on their armour. The solution was to mount an anti-aircraft gun on the hulls of a Panzer IV tanks that had been returned to the factories for battle damage repairs. In production, the Flakpanzer IV Mobelwagen used the 3.7 flak 43. The only one built with the 2cm flak was a prototype for Adolf Hitler.

So we are getting into the Autumn Winter phase so I’m having a lot more time to spend on the model workbench. Which means I can complete some more projects and get a few more videos finished for my youtube channel.

New Garden Fence

So since we moved in, we have never had a fence down one side of our garden. This was one of those jobs to get around to and now that some of the inside of the house is done, we can start to tackle the garden.

This week I’m getting to grip with the Games Workshop’s Leman Russ Battle Tank. For those not in the know, this is a nice model tank for the Games Workshop Fantasy Sci-Fi Game Warhammer 40K.

Bathroom Cabinet

So this is a quick little project. We have one of those Bathroom cabinets that sits under the sink, with sections cut out so that it fits the pedestal.

What we want is to move it to a different part of the bathroom, so we are going to need to replace the top and the shelves.

Tamiya 135th M41 Walker Bulldog Step By Step Full Build

The M41 US Tank Walker Bulldog model by Tamiya. This scale model tank is a departure for me. This will be the first piece of Vietnam era Armour that I’m turning my hand to. Quite a cheap little kit but should provide some nice painting and weathering practice.

Models September 2019

Picked up three nice models this month first off The M41 Walker Bulldog Tank from the Vietnam era. Secondly a interesting 1/18th scale German 88mm Anti Aircraft Gun. Finally, a model I have always dreamed about owning. The Tamiya U.S Navy PBR 31 Mk.II Patrol Pibber Plastic Model Boat Kit. This is a model I have dreamed about owning/building since I was a child so I’m very excited about this one.

Building A Brick BBQ – Part One

So the next project is to build a brick Barbecue. I actually wanted to start on this project about a year ago. I ended up buying 400 bricks off a guy on eBay for £40. It turns out he had had the same idea only his misses had got pissed off with the bricks sitting in their garden. Well, his loss is my gain.
